Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Golf Dept LLC (“The Golf Dept,” “we,” “us”) collects through golfdept.co and our text messages, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we use your information to do business with you, we don’t sell it, and we never share your phone number for anyone else’s marketing.
Information we collect
What you give us. When you use the form on our site or contact us, you may give us:
- Your name, email address, phone number and company or brand name
- Details about inventory you want to sell (categories, quantities, stock type, location) or an event you’re planning (type, date, guest count)
- Files you upload, such as inventory lists, line sheets, photos or logos
- Anything else you choose to write in your message
What’s collected automatically. When you visit or send the form, we and our service providers receive basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, and how long the form was open before you sent it. We use this to run the site and to block spam and bots.
Text messages. If you opt in to Golf Dept HQ Alerts, our text program for the Golf Dept team, we collect your mobile number, your opt-in consent, and the messages you send to the number (for example, a task, STOP or HELP).
We don’t use advertising trackers, and we don’t sell or rent your information.
How we use your information
- To answer your inquiry, review inventory you offer us, make offers, and quote or book pop-up events
- To arrange pickup, freight, payment and other parts of doing business with you
- To send Golf Dept HQ Alerts text messages you’ve opted in to: task and appointment reminders, daily summaries, and replies to your texts (see Text messages below)
- To keep our site and forms secure, and to stop spam, fraud and abuse
- To meet legal, tax and accounting requirements
How we share information
We share information only with companies that help us run our business, and only so they can do that work for us:
- Website hosting: Netlify serves our website
- Database and file storage: Supabase stores form submissions and uploaded files. Files are kept private and can only be opened by our team.
- Email: Resend sends us notification emails about new submissions, and Microsoft hosts our business email
- Spam and bot protection: Cloudflare Turnstile checks that form submissions come from a real person
- Fonts: Google Fonts delivers the typefaces on our site, which means your browser connects to Google
- Text messaging: Twilio, our text message provider, sends and receives our texts
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business. We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising.
Text messages and your phone number
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the aggregators and providers that deliver our text messages (such as Twilio and the wireless carriers).
Golf Dept HQ Alerts sends task and appointment reminders, daily summaries, and replies to the owner and opted-in team members of Golf Dept LLC. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Full details are in our Terms of Use and SMS Terms.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry details and files for as long as they’re useful for our business relationship with you, and as long as needed for legal, tax and accounting reasons. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).
How we protect it
Submissions travel over a secure (HTTPS) connection, uploaded files are stored privately, and only our team can access them. No method of storing or sending information online is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correct or delete: email sales@golfdept.co and we’ll respond within a reasonable time
- Texts: reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. Contact us and we’ll help.
Because we don’t track you across other websites, our site doesn’t change its behavior in response to “Do Not Track” browser settings.
Children
Our site and texts are meant for adults doing business with us. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top of this page.
